My aim was to create a combination of Shiera Seastar (another bastard of Aegon) and Daena the Defiant (mother of Daemon Blackfyre) and Littlefinger. Since Aegon had 15 living children, only two of which were true-born (or one according to some rumours), and numerous other bastards, I decided to write a story about a Targaryen bastard that Aegon only acknowledged and legitimatised at his deathbed.
